The Past, Present and Future of Ladino Culture

Through examination of literature, music and firsthand experiences, we will explore the culture of the Ladinos, a people of Judeo-Spanish heritage who originated in North Africa and Spain during the Middle Ages. We will focus on the Sephardic Jews, many who spoke the Ladino language, and their dispersion from the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa to destinations around the globe. This program is presented in partnership with Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel, Idaho’s Jewish Festival, the Idaho Museum of International Diaspora and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. This presentation is free to Osher members as well as non-members.
